The National Art Gallery in Sofia is set to present its first ever Graffiti Exhibition, with the special support and backing of River Park

The art director and curator of the creative initiative is one of the most popular graffiti artists - Nasimo. His urban graffiti work is renown not only in Bulgaria, but also in Canada, the United Kingdom, Germany, Austria, Italy, Belgium, Portugal, Poland, the Czech Republic, Romania, Serbia, Greece, Kosovo, Turkey, India, China, and Russia.

On the 28th and 29th of September 2019, the group of talented artists created seven works of art in front of a crowd of spectators, inspired by their precious childhood memories. Over the course of two days, Nasimo and his colleagues - SVE, ESTEO, Arsek & Erase, demonstrated different techniques and skills, and brought together hundreds of people who witnessed the process of creating graffiti art. The artists united around the idea, which is at the core of the new River Park complex - to recall the carefree games from their youth and portray their precious childhood memories with graffiti. The artists drew on portable panels in order to be able to exhibit their works in a gallery and continue to convey their message of a carefree childhood, spent playing games and having fun outside.

The “Square 500” National Art Gallery welcomed the initiative and decided to present its first graffiti exhibition as part of the contemporary modern art section. Over the course of almost two months, until April 5th, 2020, every visitor of the National Art Gallery will be able to admire not only at the graffiti artists' personal memories, but also to turn back time to their own childhood. The purpose of the art project is to promote this type of contemporary art and to emphasize the importance of having children go outside to play with friends again.

The initiative was inspired by the carefree childhood, full of outdoor games and entertainment, which is also a centerpiece in the design of the River Park gated community. Its infrastructure is characterized by the “smart planning” of the complex and its infrastructure and panoramic views of Vitosha and the city. Over 80% of its area (over 170,000 decares, or just over 42,000 acres) is designated as a park area with over 3,000 trees, recreation areas, playgrounds, jogging alleys, a dog park, private yards and service infrastructure. Having a space that predisposes to creating memories away from the virtual realm is the team’s main goal in the implementation of the project.

The company behind the River Park project has more than 40 years of real estate experience. The future complex is funded by Real Estate Developments (RED), which is a 100% subsidiary of Dynamic Group, an international investment group based in the Netherlands, founded in 1973, with most of its activities focused on the development of real estate on a global scale.
