5 daily steps to have a more fulfilled life

For most people, happiness depends on their mindset. The truth is, however, that with by simply making a few small changes in their daily routine, everyone can bring more positive emotions into their lives. Whether that is done through practicing a new hobby, meditation or travel is up to each separate person’s taste. However, there are a few small steps that will make the pursuit of happiness faster and easier.

5. Spend more time close to nature

The connection between nature and a long and happy life has been the subject of several studies so far. And everyone agrees that walking outdoors, living outside the city and hiking in the mountains improve our mood and physical wellbeing. Encounters with nature are also the best method for overcoming stress, which today is the main reason for a number of diseases. But how to spend more time close to nature if we live in a big city? Try to walk in the parks more often, plan trips out of town or just set up a small corner with houseplants at home.

4. Get enough sleep

Is it possible to lead a more fulfilled life without getting enough sleep? Definitely not. Sleep is the time when our body works to repair muscles, organs and cells in them. Vitamins and minerals responsible for our immune system begin to circulate throughout the body. These processes take place only in the phase of deep sleep and its duration is different for each person. That is why some people need more sleep, while others wake up well rested after only 6 hours of sleep!

3. Exercise regularly

Exercise - or rather the lack thereof - is the leading cause of the poor health and emotional state of many people around the world. As it is clear from a number of studies, exercising 2-3 times a week is far from enough if we are stationary the rest of the time - in the car, in front of the computer or on the couch. Everyone knows about the recommended minimum of 10,000 steps a day, but we should do more if we want to feel really good. The World Health Organization recommends at least 150 minutes of moderate-intensity activity throughout the week for adults aged 18–64, which means you need to include a short workout in your daily routine. 20 minutes of stretching, yoga or a morning jog should do the trick!

2. Communicate with and help your loved ones

The feeling of belonging to a community brings us satisfaction. Communicating with like-minded people and uniting around a cause makes us more productive and we achieve results easier and have more fun in doing so. At River Park, we aim to achieve just that - to build a community united by the goal of having a sustainable lifestyle close to nature. That's why we have provided several outdoor areas where you can spend time with those closest to you or even make new friends.

1. Be grateful

Every morning, list the things in your life that you are truly grateful for! This will make you smile and help start your day with a positive attitude!
